Hi, I'm Marnie 👋

I was outside one summer afternoon with my newborn son when I had a thought:

“I don’t want to put bug spray directly onto his delicate skin…could the fabric be repellent instead?"

So I did what every new mom does: I Googled.

It turns out permethrin-treated clothing was already a thing (where had I been?!). It’s even recommended by the CDC to help prevent tick bites.

Then I discovered the DIY reality:
spray everything evenly,
try not to breathe it in or get it on your skin,
somehow keep track of wash counts,
repeat the whole process again later.

It was immediately filed under: too hard.

The last thing I needed was another thing to manage.

I wanted tick prevention that was effective and easy, without adding to my to-do-list or mental load.

And I wanted it to be fun and playful – not utilitarian, and not just for hardcore hikers or outdoor gear types.

Two years later, Tick Socks – and my daughter – were born.

Socks with built-in tick protection, for everyday life.

No spraying.
No reapplying.
No tracking wash counts.

Because if mom’s thinking of everything, at least one thing should think for her.
